This may be one of the earliest Boehm System Clarinets in existence. Made c.1880. Serial #180. Six rings and 13 keys, all in working order. Two barrels with metal inserts. Length with short barrel is 23 1/4 inches. Add half an inch for the longer barrel. Excellent condition. Very heavy, might be Ebony. It was made about 40 years after the earliest French examples by L.A. Buffet and many other French makers

A Boxwood and Ivory, five Block mounted keyed Clarinet in "C" by J. Meacham, Albany c. 1812. Aside form the damaged MP, this Clarinet will need very little (pads and string) to be in playing condition. A short sealed surface crack on upper joint. Makers mark on all sections. Bell reads "Meacham, Comp, Albany C" Length is 20 1/4 inches.

A worth while project, this interesting Clarinet by Goulding, D'Almaine has five zinc keys (one touch absent) and one standard key. A singular crack runs the length of the upper joint, and and into the lower joint and Ivory ring. Makers mark on all joints. Bell reads "(Crown surrounded by wreath) Goulding, D'Almaine & Co. and on Soho Square, London" length is 20 1/4 inches.

An exceptional instrument for this date. Twelve keys, seven of which are block mounted, and five Brass pin mounted. Makers mark on four section "(crown) STENGEL, BAYREUTH (star) B". Bell reads "(crown) Brevettato DA S.M. Il Re Con Dur Medaglie (star)" Ivory thumb rest. Original MP and cap, perfect. Because the pads look so good, I'm going to say playable as is. Near perfect condition. Length without MP is 22 7/8 inches.

A 5 key, later converted to 6 key Boxwood and Ivory Clarinet in excellent condition. On the bell "(star)(Lyre) Baumann, A PARIS (Star) B" Marked on all 5 sections. Bad news, upper ring absent. Good news, No cracks, all keys working and FIVE NEW REPLACEMENT PADS. Overall length is 23 1/2 inches without MP. No MP.

Because of it measurements, I cannot attest to the pitch of this block mounted 1 keyed Piccolo. especially since the head is a replacement, not in boxwood. I leave it up to you astute collectors to contemplate a new (Boxwood) head, or just to treat the one keyed body as an interesting relic. Measurements are; body 5 3/4 inches, Head 4 inches, Blowing length 7 1/2 inches. What key is it in?

A Boxwood Piccolo with one square, block mounted Brass key, and horn rings. No makers mark, but the letter "S" is stamped on the head joint. A quarter of end horn ring is gone. Key works well. Overall length is 11 1/4 inches, blowing length is 10 5/8 inches.
