An interesting early Boxwood and Ivory 5 key Clarinet. Notice that the bell and lower joint are one piece. Also, see the artistic ends on the two long keys. Joints are very tight. The only damage is a missing spring on the lowest key. Marks in four places, include "(oak leaf) Cuvillier, a St.Omer, (oak leaf) B 6". Length is 23 3/4 inches. No cracks.
An 8 key, Block Mounted, Boxwood and Ivory Clarinet in near mint condition by Cramer, London who was it this address 1808-12. On the bell "Cramer & Son, London, (Unicorn) N0.20 Pall-Mall" Original MP. All padded, and possibly ready to play as is. Length is 23 1/2 inches.
A five block mounted key Clarinet by Adler, Bamberg, c.1836. Stained Boxwood with horn rings. Marked on every section "(logo) Adler, Bamberg, *4*,1". Brass Thumb rest. Although not a beautiful instruments, this Clarinet, with original MP, is in perfect working order. Length is 23 inches. No crack or other damage.
A boxwood and Ivory Clarinet by Metzler, London. Six block-mounted keys. This instrument is in extraordinary condition with original MP and what appears to be all good pads. Length is 20 3/4 inches,
A Boxwood and bone 6 key Clarinet in C by Martin fils, Paris(?) Five block mounted keys and one pin mounted. Makers mark (very faint) "(Bee) Martin fils, Paris (in oval)(superimposed initials) C" All keys work well. Crack in barrel and one ring. Two surface cracks in upper joint. 5 of the pads look usable. Good wood MP. Length is 19 3/16 inches.
A seven keyed,Block mounted Clarinet, Boxwood with bone rings. All keys work very well. Some chips on bone rings. One is cracked. Playable accept for pads and one stringing. Length is 19 3/4inches. Original M.P. in good condition.
An unmarked Boxwood and Bone, six keyed Clarinet in excellent condition with original MP (good) and cap. Marked only "B" on three joints. Length is 22 1/4 inches.
This may be one of the earliest Boehm System Clarinets in existence. Made c.1880. Serial #180. Six rings and 13 keys, all in working order. Two barrels with metal inserts. Length with short barrel is 23 1/4 inches. Add half an inch for the longer barrel. Excellent condition. Very heavy, might be Ebony. It was made about 40 years after the earliest French examples by L.A. Buffet and many other French makers
An unsigned, six key Clarinet with bone rings. Original MP is chipped and not playable. Two keys will require springs. Carved thumb is chipped but usable. Every thing else is good. Length is 22 3/4 inches.
A Boxwood and Ivory, five Block mounted keyed Clarinet in "C" by J. Meacham, Albany c. 1812. Aside form the damaged MP, this Clarinet will need very little (pads and string) to be in playing condition. A short sealed surface crack on upper joint. Makers mark on all sections. Bell reads "Meacham, Comp, Albany C" Length is 20 1/4 inches.
