A Hammered dulcimer from Italy with a highly decorated case in the French style. Case measures 28" x 12" x 5". Decoration is missing in spots. Instrument is built for 20 courses. Case is in three parts, top, front and remainder.
Bowed Cither or Sultana by Perry and Wilkinson, 1787-1839. This instrument is in excellent condition and comes with two finger boards; one is standard flat, and the other is step fretted, both are Ivory veneered. Probably the most thrilling string instrument in the collection. Original case. Specific additional pics sent on request.
Beautifully made miniature 'Cello in case with bow. If you can believe the label, the date is 1818. Early style case, leather covered. Bow is haired and in good condition. LOB is 4 3/4 inches. Total length is 7 7/8 inches. Bridge replacement.
Pochette or Dance Masters Kit, long model. One piece back and sides. Carved Ivory (?) inserts at shoulder. Shows signs of age but playable as is. Bridge and one peg replacement. Body is solid to neck. LOB 12 1/2 inches.
Pochette stamped "Wigley" who had a music store in London around 1800. LOB 8 inches, Playing string length 10 1/2 inches, total length 17 1/4 inches. Condition is very good, no cracks. Sound post in place. Bridge is my improvisation. No case.
